PROJECT OVERVIEW
Cacao Culture – Mango Choco Packaging Refresh
Cacao Culture approached me with a challenge: their Mango Chocolate packaging wasn’t standing out on shelves or appealing enough for the gifting market. While the taste was premium, the visuals didn’t reflect that level of quality.
I began by listening to the founders’ vision and studying how packaging influences buying decisions. I then renamed the product to Mango Choco — a shorter, catchier name that felt more modern and memorable. To enhance shelf appeal, I created flavor-specific color variations for the dark and milk chocolate versions, and redesigned the packaging to feel more premium and gift-ready.
The result? According to the client, over 5,000 newly repackaged Mango Choco bars sold within 30 days of launch — proving how strategic design can directly impact product movement.
Info
Cacao Culture began as a cacao seedling nursery serving smallholder farmers, accredited by the Bureau of Plant Industry. It later expanded into bean buying, post-harvest processing, and cacao product manufacturing — now working with more farmers and operating a 3-hectare farm in Calinan, Davao City.
